  1. I love the rhythm of this poem, the in and out of the breath, the measured beat of quiet and calm and it tries to work against your tension. And this idea of writing, of poetry as breath – it’s powerful in so many ways. There’s the rhythm of the writing itself, but I’m also thinking about how self-expression is as important to our survival as breathing. I’m going to carry that with me today.
